There are many different components to the songs that we sing, being able to track them efficiently will help remove a lot of repetitive work from your preparation for services.
CCLI
It’s important for the artists that write the music we sing to be supported, but it can also be a lot of work to track the information needed for a CCLI audit. We aim to make that painlessly easy for all churches.
Finding CCLI numbers
Finding all the data that goes along with a song can be quite tedious. We try to remove some of that pain for you by providing a way to find as much of the data as we can for you. When entering a new song, or editing an existing one, there is a button at the right of the Title field labeled Search CCLI. Clicking it will search for you based on the title you have entered and give you the most likely songs. Select the one you want and it will automatically fill in the artist information, key, year, tags, ccli number, and copyright information for you. If you’re uncertain whether or not a result is the song you want, clicking its CCLI number will open a page where you can see more info on the song. (We’re working to expand this regularly and you may occasionally find references and lyrics included for some songs).
Generating reports
When the time comes to run a CCLI audit, click the link labeled CCLI Audit on the left side of the page. Enter in the end date of your audit period and Swerv will generate a report of what songs were used during that period.
Lyrics
This allows you to track chords to a song along with the lyrics. It attempts to take care of formatting for you and provide you with the ability to effortlessly transpose songs to a different key. As it is still an experimental feature it may occasionally mistake a word for a chord. If you run into any issues with it please contact us.
Statistics
Currently you can track the frequency of a song’s usage over time by either going to the Statistics section of Swerv, or by clicking the Charts link on a song’s page. You will also see how many times a song has been used in all of your services on the song’s page. We’re planning more charts and stats in the future.
